Family Law Attorney of Central Maryland

Lawyer Helping Clients With Family Law Issues

Family law encompasses a wide array of issues. You may encounter only one or a number of them at a time. Either way, there is a law firm that is prepared to handle a divorce, child custody, parental relocation, guardianship and other family law issues you may encounter.

With offices located in Columbia, Towson, Annapolis and Owings Mills, the Law Offices of Cynthia M. Lifson has over 20 years of family law experience. We listen to our clients and work intensely to assist our clients in formulating and achieving their goals. Contact us to speak with a family law attorney.

Our Strength and Experience Are On Your Side

  • Divorce law – We represent husbands and wives going through divorce, and have experience in separation of assets for federal employees with knowledge of federal pension and retirement benefits.  We stay up to date on changing laws for divorce.  Our firm also represents unmarried cohabitants. Some couples will opt for a separation agreement where they agree on parental and marital issues in writing.
  • Domestic violence – Some situations require family members to separate because of abuse. We can file emergency petitions to address this matter.
  • Guardianship – Minors, disabled people or people who need assistance with everyday living may require a court-appointed guardian. We file the appropriate petition and pleadings to have the guardian put in place.
  • Prenuptial agreement – This type of agreement can clarify a couple’s financial responsibilities toward one another. People who have been married previously, or have children from a previous marriage, can benefit from a prenuptial agreement.

In addition to the above, we represent clients in child support and custody and collaborative law matters.

Contact our office via e-mail to set up a telephone consultation at a mutually convenient time to speak with an attorney. We offer a free initial phone consultation. Our office is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday – Friday. Other hours are available by appointment.
